Final Piece - Searching For Immortality

This is my animation that I've been working on over the last few months. I was originally aiming for 5 minutes, which was a bit ambitious so its been cut down to around 2 minutes. I also dubbed it myself (badly), I did have someone lined up to do it but they never got round to helping me out.

Ancilliary Task - Poster

I created a poster for a fictional Film Festival happening here in Oxford.

This is my poster, I created it on Serif Page Plus x2

I looked for some examples of film festival posters on the internet and try to draw out some of the key conventions from them. Here are some of the ones I looked at:

Project - Searching for Immortality

This is my animation, it's still got a little way to go before it's complete.
I still need to dub it, add the background music and finish animating the story.
The finished product will probably be around 2 minutes, with no speech bubbles and a soundtrack to fit it.

Original drawings and basic storyboard

Here are a few of the drawings i used for my characters in the animation, along with a basic storyboard I did when thinking about the story.

You might recognize some of the characters and scenes.

Bricolage

Last lesson we covered Bricolage; Bricolage - The technique of merging existing resources. We were asked to find some examples of bricolage and re-visit some examples we discussed in class.

Memento and The Machinist are both examples of bricolage in film.

Night at the museum 2 is another example, it brings together characters from a variety of different films and stories and puts them all under one roof as the basis for its comedy.

We also looked at the intro to Twin Peaks, an early 90's TV show. Back then it was so popular the theme song made it to number 1 in the charts.
